Job Overview

AzamPay Tanzania Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, manage, and optimize the company's enterprise IT infrastructure.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring high availability, scalability, performance, and security across physical data centers, enterprise networks, storage systems, virtualization platforms, containerized environments, and hybrid cloud ecosystems.

This position is suited to an experienced infrastructure professional with strong hands-on expertise in enterprise systems administration, Kubernetes, virtualization, storage, backup and disaster recovery, automation, monitoring, and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Virtualization and Identity Management

Administer enterprise server virtualization platforms, including VMware and Oracle Virtualization.

Manage Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects (GPO).

Administer LDAP and Identity and Access Management (IAM) environments.

Ensure reliable and secure enterprise identity and access services.

Kubernetes and Microservices Orchestration

Design, maintain, and troubleshoot production-grade Kubernetes clusters.

Manage Kubernetes control planes and worker nodes.

Oversee Helm-based deployments.

Monitor node health and cluster performance.

Manage ingress, plugins, and related Kubernetes components.

Support deployment pipelines designed for zero-downtime releases.

Storage and SAN Management

Provision and manage enterprise SAN storage infrastructure.

Monitor storage performance and capacity.

Conduct capacity planning and infrastructure optimization.

Optimize multi-path storage allocations to ensure reliability and performance.

Backup, Security and Disaster Recovery

Execute disaster recovery strategies, including site failovers and storage replication.

Manage enterprise backup and restoration processes using Veeam Backup & Replication.

Implement security patches across infrastructure environments.

Identify and drive remediation of infrastructure vulnerabilities.

Support business continuity and system recovery initiatives.

Data Center and Hardware Maintenance

Support Tier II and Tier III data center operations.

Manage physical server racks and related infrastructure.

Perform and coordinate server hardware maintenance.

Monitor data center environmental conditions, including cooling systems.

Ensure physical infrastructure remains reliable and operational.

Infrastructure Automation and Monitoring

Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Ansible and Terraform.

Maintain real-time infrastructure monitoring using tools such as Netdata and Zabbix.

Improve infrastructure visibility, reliability, and operational efficiency through automation and monitoring.

Hybrid Cloud and Infrastructure Operations

Deploy and manage AWS cloud resources.

Administer enterprise SaaS platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

Lead infrastructure-related technology projects using JIRA.

Collaborate closely with Software Engineering, DevOps, and other technical teams.

Support the integration of infrastructure solutions with business and application requirements.

Educational and Technical Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Professional Experience

At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a Senior Infrastructure, Systems Administration, Enterprise DevOps, or closely related role.

Demonstrable experience managing complex enterprise IT infrastructure environments.

Virtualization and Operating Systems

Candidates should have advanced knowledge of:

Linux administration, including RHEL, Oracle Linux, and Ubuntu.

Windows Server environments.

VMware virtualization.

Oracle virtualization platforms.

Containers and Orchestration

Proven hands-on experience managing production Kubernetes environments.

Experience with Kubernetes Control Plane maintenance.

Experience scaling Worker Nodes.

Knowledge of Kubernetes CNI and CSI plugins.

Experience supporting production containerized workloads.

Storage and Automation

Strong expertise in enterprise SAN infrastructure.

Practical experience with Veeam Backup & Replication.

Strong Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) skills using Terraform and Ansible.
