Senior Business Analyst - Tanzania

Support post-merger integration, licensing, financial modelling, strategic reporting and due diligence for AXIAN Digibank & Fintech.

Qualifications and experience

  • Advanced degree from a business school, engineering school or equivalent university programme.
  • Proven experience of at least 8 years in strategic, financial or regulatory analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Post-merger projects: assess the target company, find gaps and map out integration.
  • Licensing applications: write regulatory papers covering countries such as Comoros, Madagascar, Algeria, Togo and Tanzania, working closely with the legal team.
  • Financial modelling: build business plans, run financial projections, and check capital ratios and risk scenarios.
  • Strategic reports: write background reports, including impact studies and recommendations; the PMO finalizes and submits them.
  • M&A due diligence: check deals from commercial, financial and regulatory perspectives.
  • Entity structuring: study subsidiaries or spin-offs and check rules after obtaining a licence.
  • Quality control: check sources, keep data accurate and document assumptions clearly.

Skills and competencies

  • Strong analytical skills: ability to break down complex problems, quantitative reasoning and the ability to synthesize information.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel for financial modelling, including business plans, projections, prudential ratios and sensitivity analyses.
  • Very strong proficiency in PowerPoint.
  • Good understanding of regulated environments, including banking, fintech, mobile money and financial services, and licensing processes.
  • Intellectual rigor, a critical mindset and a commitment to high-quality analysis.
  • Reliability, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple in-depth projects simultaneously.
