Job Overview
Plan International is seeking a Project Driver & Operations Assistant to support programme implementation and organizational operations in Geita, Tanzania.
The role combines professional driving, vehicle management, administrative support, logistics, project coordination, and office operations.
Role Purpose
The Project Driver & Operations Assistant will:
Provide safe, reliable and professional transportation services. Manage the Plan International vehicle and ensure it remains fit for purpose. Manage fuel usage and maintain vehicle operating books. Support staff and property safety and security. Ensure compliance with relevant policies, laws and regulations. Support project activities, meetings, workshops and events. Manage records and documentation. Provide administrative, logistical and operational support to projects and departments. Support office administration and project logistics when transportation services are not required. Travel frequently to project locations.
The position requires professionalism, discretion, good customer service and commitment to organizational values and safeguarding standards.
Key Qualifications and Experience
Education
Certificate or Diploma in:
Business Administration Office Management Public Administration Records Management Logistics Management Secretarial Studies Or a related field from a recognized institution.
Additional training in office administration, records management, customer service or administrative support is an added advantage.
Professional Experience
Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience with an NGO, international organization, government institution or reputable private-sector organization. Experience driving on urban, rural and remote field roads. Experience supporting project operations, trainings, workshops, meetings and community engagements. Experience providing administrative, logistical or office support. Experience maintaining vehicle logbooks, fuel records, travel records and related documentation. Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Professional Driving Requirements
Valid Tanzanian Driving Licence - Class C or higher. Formal professional driver training from a recognized driving institution. Mandatory Defensive Driving Certificate from a recognized institution. Knowledge of road safety regulations and safe driving practices. Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and ability to conduct routine vehicle inspections. First Aid Certification is an added advantage. Clean driving record with no history of serious traffic violations or preventable accidents.
