Information Technology (IT) Officer About FAWE Tanzania Forum for African Women Educationalists Tanzania Chapter (FAWE Tanzania) is one of the 34 chapters of FAWE, a non-government Pan-African organization headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. FAWE Tanzania implements FAWE’s mandate at the national level by addressing gender equity and equality. The organization focuses on gender equality and inclusion to improve equal participation in education, improve the teaching and learning environment, strengthen community engagement and advocacy, and support the objectives of its Strategic Plan (2024–2028) and Sustainable Development Goals No. 4 (Quality Education) and No. 5 (Gender Equality). Its vision is “To create an inclusive society where Tanzanian girls and women achieve quality education at all levels to fulfil their potential.” Its mission is “Promote inclusivity and equitability in education where Tanzanian girls and women have opportunities to thrive.” Position Summary FAWE Tanzania seeks to recruit a qualified IT Officer. The IT Officer will be responsible for providing effective technical support and managing FAWE Tanzania’s information technology systems, infrastructure, devices and digital platforms. The position will ensure that ICT systems are secure, reliable, functional and responsive to the organization’s operational and programme needs. The IT Officer will support staff in the effective and secure use of digital tools, maintain IT assets and systems, strengthen data security and backup mechanisms, and contribute to the continuous improvement of FAWE Tanzania’s digital infrastructure. The IT Officer will also support the Human Resource function in maintaining data and serve as the HRIS system manager in the ERP system. Additional responsibilities include: Provide IT support to FAWE Tanzania staff on various tools and software across working devices and support staff in using new technologies. Support Human Resources with drafting documents and policies and report writing. Key Activities Provide day-to-day technical support to staff, including troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and resolving hardware/software faults. Support the organization in ensuring a high level of information and data integrity and the security of communication lines, equipment and information systems. Support FAWE Tanzania ICT facilities during workshops and conferences. Assist in maintaining an updated inventory of hardware and software. Ensure all IT updates are shared and timely guidance is sought. Interact with Programs, Operations and National Chapters to ensure understanding of business needs and efficient support delivery. Support the organization’s network administration. Support the installation, configuration, maintenance, repair, security and documentation of local area networks, servers, desktop/laptop computers, communication resources and other office equipment. Support the implementation of FAWE Tanzania ICT initiatives and policies. Provide Microsoft Office support, Active Directory maintenance and VMware support. Support Windows Server 2016 R2 logging of problems in the ServiceNow FAWE Tanzania IT enterprise ticketing helpdesk system. Manage chapter mailing lists. Provide specialized application installation and support. Provide IT support for all FAWE Tanzania office programs. Perform any other duties as assigned
