Job Overview
The News Media Content Strategist will be responsible for developing engaging short-form content for platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.
The successful candidate will monitor emerging social media trends, develop creative content ideas, write video scripts and collaborate with production teams to create content capable of reaching and engaging target audiences.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Plan and write short-form video content and scripts for TikTok and Instagram.
Monitor local and global social media trends, memes and viral content formats.
Quickly develop actionable content ideas based on emerging trends.
Transform product and campaign information into engaging and memorable short videos.
Ensure content aligns with the company's brand tone and communication objectives.
Analyze viral videos to understand hooks, pacing, emotional triggers, music and copywriting techniques.
Continuously improve the company's short-form content strategy based on performance and trends.
Work closely with filming and editing teams to guide creative direction.
Support the production of high-quality social media content.
Requirements and Qualifications
Applicants should have:
Strong understanding of TikTok and Instagram algorithms, trends and content formats.
Active experience using and studying social media platforms.
Proven experience developing successful short-video scripts.
Experience creating content for a personal account, brand or company is an added advantage.
Strong awareness of online trends and viral content.

Ability to transform creative concepts into clear and executable video scripts.
