Human Resources Intern

Dar es salaamInternshipPosted 24 Sept 2026Closes 7 Oct 2026

Earth Lungs is recruiting for Human Resources Intern in Dar es salaam. Applications close on 2026-10-07.

The EarthLungs Reforestation Foundation (commonly known as Earth Lungs) is an African-founded, community-led non-profit organization dedicated to large-scale ecological restoration and reforestation across East Africa, primarily operating in Kenya and Tanzania. Founded by environmentalist Victor Mwanga, the NGO works in partnership with local authorities like the Kenya Forest Service, local government bodies, and Forest Adjacent Communities (FACs) to restore degraded public forests, coastal mangrove ecosystems, and critical watersheds. The organization aims to plant and nurture over 1.5 billion trees by 2032 while restoring indigenous biodiversity and combating global climate change.

What sets Earth Lungs apart is its “Beyond Trees” strategy, which links ecological restoration directly to long-term economic empowerment. Rather than simply planting saplings and leaving, the organization employs local community members - with a strong emphasis on women and youth - as paid long-term forest stewards. By pairing drone monitoring, GPS mapping, and AI growth tracking with sustainable livelihood projects like beekeeping, bamboo cultivation, and mushroom farming, Earth Lungs achieves high tree survival rates while creating green jobs and providing steady incomes for surrounding villages.
