HRM 365 is hiring an Environmental, Social & Governance Manager to lead ESG strategy, compliance, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability initiatives across the organisation.
Develop and implement the organisation’s ESG strategy, policies and action plans aligned with its mission, values and programme goals.
Conduct and coordinate environmental and social impact and risk assessments for programmes, projects and partner activities, and ensure mitigation measures are implemented.
Ensure compliance with relevant environmental, social, labour, health, safety and governance requirements, including donor and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and report on ESG performance, including KPIs, targets and continuous improvement plans.
Integrate ESG considerations into programme design, implementation, procurement and partner management.
Lead stakeholder engagement with communities, partners, donors, government, employees and other key stakeholders.
Support the development and implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives, including resource efficiency, waste management and climate action.
Champion social initiatives covering community impact, diversity and inclusion, gender equality, safeguarding and employee wellbeing.
Oversee ESG due diligence for partnerships, suppliers and grants.
Coordinate ESG reporting and disclosures for donors, boards and other stakeholders, including GRI, UN SDGs and donor-specific frameworks.
Build internal awareness and capacity on ESG across the organisation and among partners.
Keep the organisation informed about emerging ESG regulations, standards and best practices.
Provide regular updates, insights and recommendations to senior leadership and relevant committees.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business, Risk Management or a related field.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in ESG, sustainability, environmental and social risk management, preferably within the NGO, development or humanitarian sector.
Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, standards and reporting principles.
Experience conducting environmental and social impact assessments.
Demonstrated stakeholder management, analytical, project management and reporting skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to translate ESG requirements into practical actions within programmatic and operational contexts.
Experience with international standards such as IFC Performance Standards, World Bank Environmental and Social Framework (ESF), GRI, ISSB, SASB and UN SDGs is highly desirable.
