Job Summary
Sandvik Mining & Construction Tanzania Limited is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled professional to join its growing team in Mwanza as an Electrical Specialist / Technical Trainer.
The successful candidate will perform maintenance and repair duties on electrical equipment, components, and other parts at Sandvik and customer site operations, while providing technical training and support.
The role is responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical equipment, components, and parts of Sandvik specialized products while adhering to all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete technical training for the relevant disciplines within Sandvik operations.
- Install, repair, inspect, and commission different types of products and equipment at customer sites or Sandvik premises.
- Report and document results following maintenance, repair, inspection, and commissioning activities.
- Plan, conduct, and maintain tools and equipment required for service work.
- Support customers with product, equipment, and process improvements by suggesting appropriate solutions.
- Provide problem-solving support to customers.
- Deliver positive results during sales and client interventions.
- Guide colleagues on appropriate service methods and the use of service tools.
- Share knowledge and experience to enable colleagues to expand their technical capabilities.
- Maintain strong customer relationships to ensure positive customer experiences and continued loyalty to the Sandvik brand.
- Provide technical advice to the service network on proper equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting practices.
- Provide technical support to end users, operators, and service personnel when dealing with complex technical issues.
- Provide relevant feedback to the Service Support Team regarding product performance to support proper equipment utilization and operation.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those relating to Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality Management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Trade-qualified professional or holder of a similar qualification in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic systems.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the mining industry.
- At least 1 year of experience maintaining Sandvik underground or crushing equipment.
- Strong understanding of Sandvik crushers, loaders, haulage trucks, drilling equipment, and machine operating principles and practices.
- Working knowledge of the Sandvik product range.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain long-term customer relationships.

- Good command of the English language.
- Good analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and conscientious approach to work.
- Flexible and self-reliant.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
