Accountant Officer

Accountant Officer Responsibilities

The Accountant Officer will be responsible for:

Managing accounting transactions and maintaining accurate financial records.

Preparing budget forecasts and supporting financial planning.

Preparing and publishing financial statements on time.

Handling monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes.

Reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Ensuring timely processing of bank payments.

Calculating taxes and preparing tax returns.

Auditing financial transactions and supporting documentation.

Maintaining confidentiality of financial information.

Conducting database backups when necessary.

Ensuring compliance with financial policies, regulations and accounting standards.

Performing general ledger functions and account reconciliations.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Financial Accounting, Accounting, Finance or a related field.

More than 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Previous work experience as an Accountant.

Strong knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.

Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Practical experience using accounting software.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.

Experience with general ledger functions.

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.

CPA or CMA certification is an added advantage.

Ability to comply with company rules, policies and regulations.
